International Alternative Networks

International alternative networks are non-commercial companies that aim to boost the quality of media click for more info and information in their respective countries. This article examines the legal and economic hurdles that these alternative networks have to face in addition to the governance issues. It draws lessons from eight precedents in the past. It provides a definition for these networks and proposes a classification. It is aimed at broadening critical reflections on alternative media and communication infrastructures while considering the complexity and heterogeneity in their activities.
